Highlighting the contradictions in the ‘Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students “for the year 2009-10, Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood organized a press conference which was jointly addressed by Ranjeet Sharma, President, Suresh Kumar, General Secretary and Mahesh Kaul, Organizing secretary of the movement respectively.

Addressing the media persons Mahesh Kaul said that “It is unfortunate that the University Grants Commission while issuing the notification on behalf of the Ministry of Minority Affairs has failed to identify the actual minorities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir while announcing the scholarships for the minorities all over India for the M.Phil, PhD and other equivalent research degrees in universities.”He said that, ’While the UGC has defined the number of seats for the minorities belonging to different communities in the various states but it has earmarked all the 27 fellowships for the majority community of the state neglecting the various ethnic communities of the state .This is a serious anomaly as it appears that UGC and Ministry and Home Affairs are confused about the definition of minority in this demographically changed and conflict ridden state.”

Mahesh Kaul further added that,”UGC should define what as per its guidelines constitutes the minority in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Muslim community constitutes the majority population in this state and cannot be treated as a minority .Article 370 and special status of this state should not prompt the UGC and Ministry of Home affairs to create a paradoxical situation where the minorities of the state are subjected to discrimination and subjugation. It is clear that that UGC is violating the right to equality and justice. It is severe contradiction that can lead to unrest in the State .Sangarsh has taken a serious note of this contradiction and will sensitize the scholars and intelligentsia about this gross injustice of the Ministry of Minority Affairs towards the minorities of J&K. Sangarsh has already taken the counsel of legal luminaries in this connection and will seek the intervention of the honorable courts to settle this issue of injustice towards the minorities of the state of Jammu and Kashmir’.

Sangarsh celebrated its 2nd foundation day at Baalniketan

Sangarsh-A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood celebrated its second foundation day and the festival of Maha Shivratri at Shri Ved Mandir Balniketan Amphalla by organizing the following the events
i) Painting Competition on Environment Pollution
ii) Musical Chair and iii) Balloon Competition
In Painting competition the first three positions were clinched by Mr. Sumit Singh, Mr. Awadh and Mr. Vijay Verma whereas Ms. Sheetal Sharma and Mr. Subash Singh won the consultation prizes. The Musical Chair competition was won by Mr. Paras while in the Balloon Competition the first and 2nd positions were secured by Mr. Tashi and Ms. Vidushi.
Mr. Ajay Sadhotra, Member Legislative Council, Jammu and Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address Mr. Sadhotra appreciated the efforts of the Sangarsh to work among the children who are the future of the state and nation. He encouraged the students of Balniketan to excel in various fields and bring laurels for them and the nation. He urged the students to equip themselves with the modern technology to face the environment of the great competition in the present era in the field of education.
On this Mr. Sadhotra announced the package for upgrading the system of technological education for the girl students of Balikaniketan for the purchase of the computers.
Also speaking on the occasion Capt. Parshotam Sharma, Secretary Balniketan urged the students to be vigilant and be ready for the sacrifice for the nation. Nation is above everything else.
Also interacting with the audience Mr. Suresh Kumar, General Secretary of the movement presented the report of the past achievements of the movement and showed the commitment of the Sangarshi’s in the establishment of a strong and powerful nation through Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood. Prominent among others who also spoke on the occasion include Mr. Vinay Sharma, former Cultural secretary Jammu University and Mr. Mahesh Kaul, Organizing secretary, Sangarsh.

Sangarsh described Swami Vivekananda as the incranation of world brotherhood

Sangarsh-A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood observing the 112th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanda called upon the people of all sections of society particularly to the youth of the nation to follow the teachings of Swami ji whole heartily for restoring equality, peace,prosperity and brotherhood among all the religions.
Terming Swami Ji as the real youth icon, the General Secretary of the Sangarsh movement Suresh Kumar said that it was Swami Vivekananda, who ignited the flame of India nationalism by embracing the whole mankind in the universal religion of vedanta answered all the questions that concerned the national life of India and chalked out the plan of action for the modern India.
Suresh said that Swami Ji never restricted himself as a Hindu monk but he worked for the welfare of whole mankind with true spirit ad showed the path of equality and brotherhood to the universe.Swami Vivekananda was a modern incarnation of the supreme power who came on this earth and showed us the path of love, compassion,brotherhood and awakened us from the long sleep with his world famous quote "Arise, Awake and Stop Not Till The Goal is Achieved."
Citing one of the incident Suresh said that 'Once upon a time Swami Ji was delivering lecture in India, A disciple from America came to him and asked some questions in English and Swami Ji replied him in Hindi. After this when Swami Ji went to America the same person came and this time he asked the question in Hindi but this time Swami Ji replied in English. The person asked about this strange behaviour of Swami Ji, then Swami Ji replied in India you showed your love for your mother tongue and the same i did and here you showed respect for my mother tongue and replyig answers in English i did the same.'
Referring to another quote of Swami Ji "All power is within you and you can do each and everything . Believe in that", Suresh said that such inspiring words of Swami Ji and a lot others are now become the guiding spirit of the youth not only of India but of the whole world, who irrespective of any colour, caste, religion or creed applies the sayings of Swami Ji in his life.
On the occasion all the Sangarshi's pledge to work against any type of injustice and discrimination in the society at any sphere upto the last breath of their lives through he path shown by Swami Vivekananda. They also appealed to the people of all walks of the society particularly to the youth to join the nationalist movement so that we can lead the humanity to its goal of peace and prosperity.

SKEWPY document drafted by ignorant experts of the Kitchen cabinet of Chief Minister

Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today in a press conference at Jammu University has condemned the state government for making mockery of the unemployed youth of the state through its Sher-E-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY).
Addressing to the media persons General Secretary of the Sangarsh movement Mr. Suresh Kumar informed that after going through the document of 38 pages of employment policy it seems that it is not drafted by any intelligentsia but by the people who are basically seems to be ignorant or pretend to be the persons who are away from the ground. These persons who claim themselves to be the experts of the kitchen cabinet of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah actually have no knowledge of ground realities.
According to Suresh in the document the utmost stress is laid down only on the
I) Construction of the buildings and other infrastructure for the District Employment and Counseling Centers,
ii) Renaming of the District Employment Exchanges as District Employment and Counseling Centers.
iii) Measurement of land in square feet for offices, cost of land, design of building, canteen facility etc. By only renaming the offices and changing their building designs what benefit would the unemployed youth get???
Besides this, some promises are also made such as the availability of the information on all self employment schemes of the state government and the central government, information regarding all government jobs, advertisements issued by the JKPSC, Service Selection Board, JK Police Recruitment Board etc.
Suresh questioned that how these hollow promises of government shall be fruitful for the unemployed youth of the state. He stressed that the youth needs some concrete job package and not the promises which possess no weightage on ground. Such slogans are good in hearing but these cannot fulfill our basic necessities i.e. Roti, Kapaara aur Makkan, he remarked.
Adding, he opined that today the minimum average budget of a family of five members on only food in a day comes around Rs. 150 that comprises breakfast, lunch and dinner. In this proportion it comes out to be Rs. 4500/- per month and so in continuity the annual expenditure of a family only on food comes out to be Rs. 54000/- per annum and if we include other things the graphs rises and rises “Nanga naheya ga kya aur nichore ga kya” and our Chief Minister says that the financial aid shall be given to the families having annual income from all sources less than 50000/-per annum. Will our Hon’ble Chief Minister clarify to the people of the state that under such circumstances when the inflation on the food items is more than 19%, to whom they are going to give benefit through his package?
Is this not merely an eye wash just to carry the vehicle of politics on track, he asked? Ruling out any new scheme in the package, suresh said that all the entrepreneurship schemes of the government are the older one running from the last so many years.
On one way Suresh also hails for the concern behavior of the young Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir state Omar Abdullah for the youth of the state but the document released by the government yet not to be treated on the expectations of Sher- E- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on whose 104th birth anniversary it was released. Sangarsh appeals to the Chief Minister to make it relevant on the ground realities of at least one million unemployed youth of the state.
Also expressing the views Joint Secretary Mr. Nitin Sharma opined that the document is silent on those youth who belong to the families of refugees from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kasshmir (POK) who are settled in the state from the last so many decades. The document also observed criminal silence on the youth belonging to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. Flaying the state government he opined that it is ironical that you can get car loan on lesser interest rate than government‘s employment package loan. He expressed that till the government comes with some concrete package all its policies alre vague in nature.

Sangarsh- A movement for justice,equality,peace,prosperity and brotherhood organised a press confrence today to express the opinion on the so called employment package of 3000 jobs for the internally displaced Kashmiri Pandit youth under the Prime Minister’s Package for Return and Rehabilitation.It was jointly addressed by Ranjeet Sharma ,Suresh Kumar and Mahesh Kaul,President,General Secrtetary and the Organasing Secretary of the organisation.
Addressing the media persons ,Mahesh Kaul said that “It is not the employment package but the employment bondage.As per the SRO 412 dated December 29,2009 the appointees applying against these posts will have to execute an agreement with the government that they will serve in the Valley against the posts on which appointed and at a place where posted but in case the appointee migrates from the valley again for any reason ,whatsoever,shall loose the job without any notice and shall stand terminated.What govermnent wants to convey by this condition? Perhaps the ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri Pandits was not forced but they left themselves on their own.That is what the government wants to convey and the Kashmiri Pnadits are themselves responsible for their plight.”
Mahesh Kaul added that “the government has hurt the sentiments of the nationalist Kashmiri Pandits by trivilising their plight and imposing conditions on their employment and treated them in the same way as the Imperial British government used to treat the Indian labrourers sent to the British colonies to work as plantation workers.It reflects the mindset of the policy makers as it reveals on what premise they are treating the problems of the Pandits.It reminds one of the forced labour prevalent in the state known as BEGAR.”
He said that”the Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of ethinic cleansing and genocide that was inflicted on them by the fascist mindset and the jihadist mentality that created the conditions overtly and covertly for their enmass exodus.It seems that the government wants to use the Kashmiri Pandits as the scape goats to show that the social structure of the Kashmir Valley is intact .But the reality is different as the demographic change has taken p[lace in 1990 .Under the present political and social dispensation the outlook of the government is flawed.The so called Apex Committee which is supposed to be the admirer of the this employment package is helping the vested interests to hold the Kashmiri Pandits as hostages of the political class and fascist tendencies who subjected the Kashmiri Pandits to abject misery for their Indian nationalism”
He said that” it has again expoed the unwillingness of the government to get to the root cause of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide.What kind of secularism is this that for investigating the Gujrat riots commisssions are constituted and for the last 20 years nocommission has been constituted to investigate the forces and factors that led to the Kashmiri Pandit exodus from Kashmir valley”.

In order to sensitize the society about the intentions and fall out of the fifth Working Group recommendations submitted by Justice Sagir Ahmed Sangarsh- A movement for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood held a press conference. The press conference was jointly addressed by Ranjeet Sharma, President, Suresh Kumar, General Secretary and Mahesh Kaul, Organizing Secretary of the Organization .
While addressing the media persons Mahesh Kaul said” the report submitted by Justice Sager Ahmed is a non serious move as far as the aspirations of the 40% minorities of the J&K state are concerned. The report has taken the minorities of the state for granted as every attempt has been made in the report to sideline their nationalist and pro-India voice .The report is an attempt to revitalize the and renew the 1953 status of the state and hence delink the state from the national mainstream and reduce the minorities of the state to the hostages to the majoritarian separatist forces of the Kashmir valley.” He questioned the rationale behind the assertion in the report regarding the restoration and strengthening the autonomy in the context of the article 370, when it was supposed to be temporary in reality. The report has also exposed both the concepts of autonomy and self rule as the two sides of the same coin meant to dilute the Indian sovereignty over J&K.

He expressed serious apprehensions about “the flawed role played by the Indian political establishment and the policy makers first in terms of quiet diplomacy and now the controversial recommendations of the Justice Sagir Report. It brings to the light the political consensus in India to give concessions to the separatists and the so called mainstream parties at the cost of the nationalist aspirations of the minorities of the state.
The communal content and the discrimination content in the report are clear as it is opposed to the delimitation of the constituencies in the Jammu region. The outright rejection of the Union territory status to the Ladakh and trivialization of the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Kashmiri Hindus by reducing their plight to that of only security issue is mockery in itself. The report has also failed to recognize the plight of West Pakistan refugees, who have been reduced to aliens and non entities in their own state.”
Mahesh Kaul further said that,” Report needs to be out rightly rejected as it has not taken into confidence even the members of the Working Group and aptly all the members have disassociated themselves from the Working Group.Moreover, the the Working Group was constituted by the Prime Minister then what is the logic of submitting the report to the Chief minister? All the points of reference are outdated in time and space and thus have no relevance in the present context.Sagarsh is of the firm opinion that political reorganization of the entire state is the only just solution to the communal, social and religious problems of the state.”

SANGARSH-A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today in a meeting held at University of Jammu criticized the Dean Academic affairs Jammu University Prof. B.P.S. Sehgal raised question mark for inviting application for enrolment to Ph.D. courses for the session 2009-10 (December Session).
In his press statement Mr. Suresh Kumar, General Secretary of the movement opined that when the students of the final semesters of all the Post Graduate courses are waiting for result than at such a time what is the relevance of such notification? He asserted that on one side the university failed to declare the result of the final semesters and on other hand the Dean Academic Affairs notifies such circular which clearly reveals the lack of coordination between the administration.
He asked to the Dean Academic Affairs to clear his stand for whom the notification has been issued either for the students or there is some hidden agenda.
Sangarsh also appealed to the Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Prof. Varun Sahani to direct the concerned department for the declaration of the final semester results as the delay in the result causing frustration among the students.

Sangarsh -A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today held a press conference at Jammu University in connection to rumors prevailing among the unemployed youth of the state regarding the scholarship/ incentives by the state government as per their qualification.
Addressing the media persons the General Secretary of the Sangarsh movement Mr. Suresh Kumar informed that after the announcement at the official level that from this year onward the state government shall provide scholarship to all unemployed youth of the Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of their social and economic status, we are seeing huge rush at all the district level Employment Exchange Offices where everyday youth from both urban and rural areas reaches to avail this facility. As per the information circulated at government level the unemployed youth upto matriculation level shall get Rs. 500/- per month, undergraduate unemployed youth shall get Rs. 1000/- per month, a youth who is graduate shall get Rs. 1500/- per month, a post graduate and a research scholar shall get Rs.2000/- and 2500/- per month respectively. But last week when contacted to the officials of these offices they claimed that till date no direction has been issued by the government in this regard in writing so to comment on any such scheme would be a pre mature statement. When asked them that why they are advising the youth to fill this form, the higher officials claimed that it the routine exercise, because they have to collect the data of total number of unemployed population.
Criticizing the silence observed by the government Suresh said that no body has any right to make mockery of unemployed youth and by spreading such type of rumors in the society, the present coalition government has done the same. He said that whatever government is doing on their part is OK but after assuring and then observing silence on that, means there is something cooking beyond the curtain just the keep the vehicle of politics on track. He claimed that the youth of state is enough competent to earn for himself but the way the government is trying to befool us shall not be good for the government and this time we shall leave no stone unturned to get justice for the unemployed youth of the state.
He appealed to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah to clear his stand on the controversy as the people of the state particularly the youth has high hopes on him.

Security Scenario in Jammu University and Impact of handing over the Security of JU to JKP

SANGARSH- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today organised fourth discussion session on the topic "Security Scenario in Jammu University and Impact of handing over the Security of JU to JKP" under its 'Sangarsh Lecture Series'. In the meeting attended by about 25 students and research scholars hailing from different departments unanimously decided to welcome the move of the Vice- Chancellor of University of Jammu Prof. Varun Sahani for handing over the command of security of JU to Jammu and Kasmir police.
Expressing the views Mr. Waheed Ahmed, a student of The Law School opined that keeping in view the past few incidents that took place in the varsity it is necessary that the security of the university be supervised by some trained persons who can tackle the situation in becoming worst as it is observed that local security of the university failed at every aspect.
Another student from the same department Varun Sharma ruling out the misconception an\bout the functioning of JKP that it can create indiscipline said that law and order is same for every one and if some body will indulge in any such activities than he can be treated under law.
Monika Sharma from the department of Home Science favouring the move stated that it is in the interest of the students particularly in the interest of the female students as sometime we watch that outsiders misbehaves with the female students and at that time local security and university authorities pay no concern in this regard.
Also addressing the gathering the General Secretary of the movement Mr. Suresh Kumar assured the university administration that the common student is in favour of establishment of Police Chowki in the campus because it will result in tightening the nose of miscrants. Ruling out the nuisance create by the police he opined that it means that there should not be any force in the country. He asked that how many cases we see or listen that any police man misbehaved with any female in the city?. I think no , he said.
Suresh asserted that JKP is a disciplined force and a force has to work according to certain rules and regulations laid down in the constitution of India and if some one try to violate any such rule than law acts and punish him.
Terming the JKP as for the people and by the people, Suresh opined that the Sangarsh shall make a common consensus among the students and scholars and shall cooperate the Jammu University administration in this regard.

Spiritual Religion Can Safeguard the Indian Nation

INDIA is at the crossroads today. The reason being the onslaught on its spiritual and national core from internal and external threats.The grave threat which India has been facing right from the partition of the subcontinent is the terrorism meant to bleed the spiritual core of the nation (tribal invasion in 1947 sponsored by Pakistan).The 26/11 made it visible to the elite classes who had otherwise shut their eyes towards any incident that was meant to balkanize the Indian nation and hence civilization. The threat faced by India is not recent one .It was there but the media and the intellectual class never paid any heed
towards it.Whether it was the en mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the valley of Kashmir in 1990 or the terrorist attacks on the landmark of the Indian democracy- the parliament.This denial mode has cost the nation in a big way .It has led to the mindset and the class of people within the domain of the law of the land to dilute the Indian civilization and create the Indian state which seems to be in conflict with the Indian and hence, the Indian civilization. Policy makers in haste and perhaps in a bid to create vote banks have diluted the sovereignty and integrity of India.Thus creating a political class which has created the political establishment, which sees every attempt to bail out the fifth columnists as their natural duty as it helps them to keep the flawed infrastructure of their entry into executive intact to subvert the civilizational edifice of India.
The greatest blow to the national character was given by the political class in 1947,who were negotiating the transfer of power in tandem with the partition of the subcontinent without realizing the magnitude of the displacement and bloodshed that accompanied the vivisection of the Indian subcontinent.It didn’t stop there ,the sore has been developing with every passing year and now it seems that it has graduated to such an extent that the support to balkanization of already divided India is finding takers in the political class who want to convert it into electoral gain.But the question is at what cost?The answer is simple at the cost of the Indian civilization.The continuous invasion of the foreign invaders in the past appear small as the acts of internal elements seem to be more dangerous as they provide the necessary oxygen to these external elements by facilitating their acts overtly and covertly.And by doing this these elements want to paint the religion of the land in the black. What these elements in the political establishment forget is that the religion grounded in the human values has been the soul of India.And no power however, strong has been able to hurt this core and hence the spirit.That is why despite continuous victimization of the people of the land and destruction of their religious places India emerged as the jewel of the human civilization.
Instead of getting vanished from the world map it not only reappeared but also provided the shelter to the persecuted people of various religions. Swami Vivekananda, the tiger among the nationalists of the land stressed the need to look inward to keep the soul of the nation intact. In June19, 1907- Sri Aurobindo another proud son of the soil, revolutionary visionary and philosopher spoke thus, on Swami Vivekananda, “Apart from the natural attachment which every man has to his country, literature, its traditions, its customs and usages ,patriotism has an additional stimulus in the acknowledged excellence of a national civilization. If Britons love England with all her faults ,why should we fail to love India whose faults were whittled down to an irreducible minimum till foreign conquests threw the whole society out of gear .But instead of being dominated by the natural ambition of carrying the banner of such a civilization all over the world ,we are unable to maintain its integrity in its native home .This is betraying a trust this is unworthiness of the worst type .we have not been able to add anything to this precious bequest ;on the contrary we have been keeping ourselves and generations yet unborn from full enjoyment of their lawful heritage…..Further emphasizing the point he says, “According to Sidgwick, physical expansion proceeds from a desire for a spiritual expansion and history also supports the assertion. But why should not India then be the first power in the world? Who else has the undisputed right to extend spiritual sway over the world? This was Swami Vivekananda’s plan of campaign. India can once more be made conscious of the greatness by an overmastering sense of the greatness of her spirituality. This sense of greatness is the main feeder of all patriotism. This only can put an end to all self-depreciation and generate a burning desire to recover the lostground. The challenges before India are manifold keeping in view the global scenario. And greatest challenge is the threat to its civilization.India has to rise first to pull out itself from the state of self deception and look into its glorious past and then lead the world community ,which is in a crisis keeping in view the economic meltdown and the political fall out associated with it.Only India can insulate the mankind with its religion of spiritual humanism that is the bed rock of the Indian civilization.Only then can we come out the illusion of self deception .In which we have been entangled by the political class who don’t pay heed towards the spiritual wisdom of Indian heritage.Consequently, the scenario is there for everyone to see.In the words of Swami Vivekananda,more there is an attempt to hide the humanistic Indian religion ?more forcefully it reappears . Policy makers, politicians and intellectual class need to pay heed to these words of advise. Swami Vivekananda says,”In religion lies the vitality of India ,and so long as the Hindu race do not forget the great inheritance of their forefathers,there is no power on earth to destroy them”.

Accession of J&K to India is Complete

The partition of the Indian subcontinent should be seen in the perspective of the Anglo-Muslim alliance that was forged by the British to retain their strategic foothold in the Indian subcontinent to have an access to the Russian activities and the appreciable influence on the Central Asian region mainly in terms of oil reserves. As the oil reserves were in the domain of the Central Asian and Middle Eastern Islamic countries and regions so the British encouraged the separatist Muslim sentiment in India to impress the Muslim World and at the same time kept the nationalist movement for the Indian independence under check.,which the British viewed as the “Hindu Nationalist”upsurge.
Kashmir problem is the outcome of the “Great Game “ which the British played to keep the separatist Muslim element alive to keep its stakes high even though -the World War II had changed the dynamics of the strategic world order. This move was further meant to make the northern Indian borders weak and pregnable forever and result is the present Kashmir crisis. It was a clear moves to sow the seeds of the balkanization of the Indian Union. The process of maintaining the checks and applying brakes on the Indian nationalists were already devised by the British well before 1947 and M.A. Jinnah was a British prop to materialize the separatist Muslim claims for the partition of India. These ploys and what was going on in the British mind has been revealed by Krishna Menon, who was close to the British circles, in the following words to Lord Mountbatten well before the partition on 14June 1947,”Is this frontier of (the northwest of India abutting Afghanistan & Iran) still the hinterland of the Imperial Strategy? Does British still think in terms of being able to use this territory and all that follows from it? There is considerable amount of talking in this way; and if Kashmir, for one reason or another, choose to be in Pakistan, that is a further development in this direction .I do not know of British policy in this matter .I do not know it whether you know it either. But if this be the intent, this is tragic……….As it becomes more evident ,the attitude of India would be resentful and Britain’s’ hold on Pakistan would not improve it.” Menon was pointing towards the British strategy of using the West Pakistan as a base to stop the Soviet expansion towards the Indian Ocean, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf and secondly he implied that was the British policy so “subterranean “that even the Viceroy was ignorant about it? These intrigues shaped the Kashmir problem and result is the present state of chaos and desperation.

Accession of the J&K state to the Indian Union needs to be understood by keeping in mind the traits of the British and the separatist Muslim mindset of the Muslim League nurtured by the imperial policy makers to divide India to suit their strategic hold on the Sub continent. There is a false premise on which the J&K’s Accession to India is always undrerstood by certain vested interests”That the Radcliffe Boundary Commission award giving Gurdaspur District to the Indian East Punjab was announced on august17, 1947,two days after the new Dominions of India and Pakistan had already come into being.” It is totally absurd. The demarcation of the areas that would go to Pakistan was already devised by the British well before 1947,the partition year. Its blueprint was already prepared by the Viceroy Lord Archbald Wavell in 1946 to forge an alliance with the Jinnah’s Muslim League,the foundation of this unholy alliance was laid in 1940-41 by his predecessor Linlithgow to project M.A.Jinnah as the sole spokesman of the “Muslim India”
The same blueprint was kept under cover till the opportune time came in 1947 for the British withdrawal .It was deliberately kept in abeyance so that the finger of suspicion for the vivisection of India is not raised on the British Empire. Narender Singh Sarila, who was an ADC to the last Viceroy, Lord Louis Mountbatten was a witness to the British decisions and policy. Has observed candidly in his book The Untold Story of India’s Partition that “secret archives cannot be depended upon to reveal the entire picture. Many decisions that are taken by government are never committed on paper or,if so committed ,are not revealed ,even after the probationary period for keeping them under wraps has lapsed.For instance , Lord Mountbatten’s reports to London ,sent after 15 August,1947.while he was the governor-general of India,have not been unsealed even after almost sixty years,thereby depriving us information surrounding British policy on Kashmir “
Lord Wavell was constantly in touch with the Secretary of State in London.His blueprint for the partition was being taken seriously in London .On 29 January 1946,Secretay of State revealed the British policy by stating in a telegram to Wavell that”It would help me to know when I may expect to receive your recommendation as regards definition of genuinely Muslim areas if we are compelled to give a decision to this (Partition)”
Gurdapur district was not incorporated into the Indian Union after the partition, Wavell’s partition plan forwarded to London on 6-7 February 1946 makes it clear as to what was in store for millions of people of the Indian subcontinent.,His partition plan which was implemented by his successor Lord Mountbatten reads”1)If compelled to indicate demarcation of genuinely Moslem areas I recommend that we should include (a) Sind,North-West Frontier Province, British Baluchistan and Rawalpindi,Multan and Lahore Divisions of Punjab, Less Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts………2)In the Punjab the only Moslem -majority district that would not go into Pakistan under demarcation is Gurdaspur.Gurdaspur must go with Amritsar for geographical reasons and Amritsar being the sacred city of Sikhs must stay out of Pakistan……”
Therefore it becomes clear that the decision regarding the Gurdaspur district was taken well before partition and the argument regarding its inclusion in the Indian Union after the partition does not hold any ground as it is far from the historical fact made amply clear by Lord Wavell’s partition plan.
So the point raised by the fifth columnists and other left liberal intellectuals that “Maharaja Hari Singh could not accede to the newly created Indian Dominion and the Indian Prime Minister, Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru could not accept such a request on or before August 15,1947 because under the provision of July 1947 Indian Independence Act passed by the British Parliament, Pathankot tehsil at that time, the only geographical link of J&K, was located in Gurdaspur District of west Punjab which had been notified under the aforesaid Act as part of Pakistan “ is the falsification of the reality.
Another observation by these individuals that “The Maharaja Sahib had therefore no other option than to think of Standstill Agreement with both new Dominions of India and Pakistan and making Jammu and Kashmir an Eastern Switzerland of Asia “ is another misinterpretation of constitutional realities and the facts. As the India under the British was composed of the British India and the Princely states which accepted the British Paramountcy, the rulers of these states were thus bound to accede to one of the Dominions and there was no provision for the Independent existence. The celebrated political scientist Prof.M.K.Teng in the preface to his book titled Kashmir the Myth of Autonomy has cleared this misconception regarding the accession of the J&K and other princely states to the Indian Union.He writes “ the partition of India did not envisage the accession of the Princely states to the Dominion of India and Pakistan on the basis, the British India was divided.The partition of India left the states out its scope and the transfer of power accepted the lapse of the Paramountcy : the imperial authority the British exercised over the States .The accession of the states to India was the culmination of a historical process which symbolized the unity of the people in the British India and the Indian States”. It is a populist view in order to cover the truth regarding the accession that Maharaja Hari Singh was trapped and was hence indecisive to accede to India .To clear this misconception further Prof..M.K.Teng writes ,”In 1947 ,when Jammu and Kashmir acceded to India ,the ruler of the state ,Maharaja Hari Singh signed the same standard form of the Instrument of Accession ,which the other major Indian states signed .The accession of the state to India was not subject to any exceptions or pre-condition to provide for any separate and special constitutional arrangements for the state .Neither Nehru ,nor Patel gave any assurances to Hari Singh or the National Conference leaders that J&K would be accorded a separate and independent political organization on the basis of the Muslim Majority character of its population.”
Thus the above analysis makes it crystal clear that the accession of the Jammu and Kashmir State to the Indian Union is complete in the constitutional manner. And the role played by Maharaja Hari Singh is that of a true patriot and democrat.

Threat to Northern Frontiers of India by China

19/11/2009: Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood organized the the third lecture titled "Encirclement of India by China" under the Sangarsh Lecture Series in the lawn of The Law School, University of Jammu. The resource person for today's lecture was Dr. Manoj Bhatt, Assistant Professor in Department of Economics, University of Jammu.
He touched upon all the contours aspects contours of China's strategy to encircle India in Geo-strategic domain. He traced the perspectives and positioning of the Chinese policy vis-à-vis South-East Asia and 'ASEAN'. He delved upon the sphere of influence of Chinese strategy by exerting its influence in the countries neighbouring India, popularly known as "String of Pearls".
The stress was laid to read into the emergence of China as a economic power when the US economy is exhibiting a down slide which was revealed in economic recession. Stock was also taken of the US tilt towards the China and the US President Obama's recent visit to China wherein Chinese cooperation was sought to bring stability to Afghanistan.
This development was analyzed from the perspective that the Chinese presence in Afghanistan will lead to complete encirclement of India as Pakistan is a direct proxy of China. With this the threat to northern frontiers of India and the conflict ridden J&K state will increase many folds and will be a disaster to the territorial integrity of the India. The discussion which started after the discourse took into consideration the Maoist threat to the national main stream. It was observed that the Maoist insurgency is a direct consequence of China to bankanize the Indian Union and then externally launch a military offensive to dismember India which is otherwise a civilizational state.
Mr. Bhanu Partap, a student of The Law School stressed upon the role of youth in sensitizing the people of India about the nefarious designs of China.
Ms. Suman Karloopia, a student of the The Law School highlighted the role of political class to defeat the Chinese designs.

Encirclement of India By China

A Press Conference was organized by Sangarsh on 16/11/1009 in order to express concern over the hardline posture adopted by China towards India and denial mode of the Indian political establishment towards the Chinese claims over the India territory. The press conference was jointly addressed by Mr. Ranjeet Sharma, President, Mr. Suresh Kumar, General Secretary, and Mr. Mahesh Kaul, Organizing Secretary of the organization respectively.

The leaders of Sangarsh said that “the hardline posture adopted by China over the Indian territories is directly related to the changing world strategic order due to the receding clout of the US economy and its dependence on the Chinese currency and the second factor for the Chine sabre rattling is due to the political and social instability in Pakistan which acted as the direct proxy of the Chinese strategy to restrict India to hamper its emergency as a economic power. Now that Pakistan is crushed under the burden of its own making of terrorism, the Chinese Dragon has decided to flex its muscles with full vigour”.

They said that “the Chinese are creating an atmosphere which is quite similar to that of 1962 in which the Chinese encouraged the Naga insurgents to destablise India internally so that the Chinese are able to distort the Northern Frontiers of India. This time the situation is of greater danger as the encirclement of India is already complete due to the influence of China on the immediate neighbours of India-Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, strategically known as the “String of Pearls”. It hangs around India like a tight noose. And support to the Maoist terrorist by these nations at the behest of China is fraught with serous consequences which are bound to balkanize India. The recent threat by China that 1962 like situation is in the offing that China want to destabilize India by encouraging the Maoists and at the same time it will not shriek from launching military offensive against India.”

They asserted that “this is due to the denial mentality of the Indian policy makers who have pursued the flawed Nehruvian foreign policy from point of weakness and not from the point of strength of realpolitik. India has not played the Tibet card well. The worst faux pas came in 2003 when Vajpayee regime declared Tibet as an autonomous part of China, knowing well that China’s claim over Tibet is disputed. Infact China has illegally occupied legal part of the Jammu and Kashmir state known as Aksai Chin. If the present belligerent posturing is not confronted by building defence muscles and keeping the dialogue open on the even kneel, deterrence will not come with nuclear weapons only but with military preparedness guided with satellite surveillance. India should adopt proactive approach on Tibet to confront China in Arunachal Pradesh and J&K”.

They said that “Issuing of separate papers with passport for the Indian citizens of J&K visiting China is serious development which is direct threat to the sensitive state of J&K which is already confronting the conflict. China has already access to the state of J&K from the occupied territory of the state from the Pakistani side. If the same meek attitude of Indian policy makers continues then there is an unfortunate possibility that POK will be called Chinese Occupied Kashmir (COK). The central government should come out with a comprehensive policy as there is a clear link between Pakistan’s rise and fall with that of China”. The speaker urged the Indian masses to pressurize the Indian government to bar and boycott the Chinese goods in the Indian markets.Others who were present in the press conference included Suraj Singh, Akhmat Choudhary, Anil Sharma spokesman and executive members respectively.

Need to bridge the gap between India and Bharat

Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood organised the second lecture under its "Sangarsh Lecture Series" on 12/11/2009 titled: 'Effect of Recession on Indian Economy'. The resource person was Prof. Deepankar Sen Gupta from the Department of Economics, University of Jammu. In his lecture Prof. Sen Gupta gave a comprehensive insight and perspective of Indian economy in terms of its internal and external aspects. He highlighted the effect of Recession on Indian economy keeping in view the parameters which has absent to insulate the Indian economy and stressed on the need for decoupling with a focus on the agriculture which is the main state of the Indian economic infrastructure.

In order to prevent Indian economy from getting derailed he urged the policy makers to focus on the domestic services and the human capital,less than 40% of the Indian economic agriculture driven which otherwise should have been 60%.

To make the Indian economic system fulproof he stressed for the empowerment of the Panchyati Raj System at the grass root level which enable the Indian agrarian economy to take roots in the Indigenous way and bridges the gap between India and Bharat which are otherwise parallel in Indian- Politico-Economic system, the need is to converge the two and create a viable, vibrant and shockproof economic environment in the country.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah's statement is a threat to minorities in J&K

Sangarsh-A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood 0n 09/11/2009 strongly condemned the statement of the Union Minister and patron of the National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah that "we are a muslim majority area and proud of it". In a press conference held at University of Jammu, which was jointly addressed by Mr. Ranjeet Sharma, President, Mr. Suresh Kumar, General Secretary and Mr. Mahesh Kaul, Organising Secretary of the movement respectively.

They termed the statement of Dr. Farooq Abdullah as unfortunate as it has sent wrong signals among the miniorities of the state. The state is a sensitive area as it is engulfed by the ethno-religious conflict since last two decades and has witnessed tremendous demographic change in terms of the internal displacement of the people which started with the armed conflict in the state. This statement is against the secular and democratic constititutional set up of the Indian Union, they expressed.

They said that in a recent visit the Union Home Minister P. Chidambarm had said that the central government was serious about the return and rehabilition of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. The statement made by Dr. Farooq Abdullah reflects the mindset of the majority community of the valley. If this is the case then the state is moving towards the further deterioration of the situation. If this is the mental state of the political class then rehabilitation of the miniorities in their natural bahitat is impossible.

They observed that there is a serious threat to sovereignty and interigty of the Indian nation as far as the policy of the central government towards the Jammu and Kashmir is concerned. many people and organisations have commented about the statements made by the P. Chidambaram regarding the "quiet diplomacy and unique solution" but the focal point of the statement made by him that "There are other political parties which do not participate in elections and have their set of views. There are extreme voices, which call for secession and separate nation. We accept it and it is the reality" . If the Indian state is thinking on these lines to solve the jammu and Kashmir issue then there is no doubt that the nationalistic Indian people are being kept in dark. Something is cooking behind the scenes to dilutethe Indian sovereignty over the state. We see a link between the statements the Dr. Abdullah regarding the muslim majority status of the state and the Chidambaram's statement that he accepts that there are voices for separate nation in the state, claimed Sangarshi's.

They revealed that in this context the return and rehabilition of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland in the present disposition is fraught with serious consequences and these statements made by these senior leaders justify as to why the Kashmiri Pandits were forced to live in exile in their own state and own country.They were flanked by Suraj Singh, Spokesperson, Nitin Sharma and Meenakshi Anand, Joint Secretaries.

In order to sensitize the society about the impending dangers from the environmental degradation and its adverse effects on the whole human kind, Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood in order to start the lecture series on this years theme "OUR LIFE OUR ENVIRONMENT" organised the first lecture on 05/11/2009 on "ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT" which was delivered by Dr. Renu Nanda, Associate Professor, Department of Education and a renowned social activists. She interacted with the scholars and students of university of Jammu and initiated the dialogue wherein she shared her practical experiences regarding the sustainable environment.

She observed that children are more Eco friendly than adults. In order to create environment free from pollution and degradation she highlighted the need to devise different frame work for rural and urban areas for the Eco friendly environment.

Mr. Mahesh Kaul organising Secretary, Sangarsh managed the whole proceedings of the session and he suggested that environment conservation policies should be devised by involving all the stake holders and by devising multi disciplinary approach.

The General Secretary of the Sangarsh movement Mr. Suresh Kumar highlighting the problems being faced by the common people particularly in rainy season due to the shortage of infrastructure advised to submit a proposal to the Jammu Municipal Corporation and jammu university authorities regarding the environment protection and installation of more dustbins, besides other necessary requirements.

Should Padamshree be retrieved from Prof. Amitabh Mattoo in view of serious financial and administrative irregularities at JU campus during his tenure

The activists of Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood held a press conference at its headquarter regarding the serious concern of the report of the Comptroller And Auditor General of India for the year ended 31 March 2008 Government of Jammu and Kashmir in the context of Jammu University.CAG pricks JU ‘s global status balloon and clearly predicts that when campus was riding high on its international identity it was simultaneously becoming den of irregularities.
Speaking during the press meet Mr. Ranjeet Sharma and Mr.Vikrant Sharma founder members SANGARSH highlighted that CAG report clearly speaks out the failure of JU administration lead by the former Vice Chancellor Prof. Amitabh Mattoo in the sphere of auditing methodology, Planning, Financial management, Performance of the University in the field of research, Monitoring of research programmes, research collaboration, Failure in the setting up of Jyotir Vigyan Department for which amount more then 15 lakhs was released by UGC.
Mr.Ranjeet claimed that University has utterly failed in the field of administrative functions which includes declaration of results, Valuation of answer sheets, Issuance of degrees, Procurement and utilization of examination forms/prospectus, Skill oriented courses, Grant of affiliations to colleges also CAG report depicts the failure of University in Inventory management, on preparation of accounts, physical verification and internal audit. The conclusion of CAG report has shown the real face of the former VC who befouled the people of Jammu which says that there are significant weaknesses in the control environment relating to academic activities of the university as evidenced by non completion of research projects, delay in declaration of results, issuance of degrees and undervaluation of answer scripts. No emphasis was laid on linking of undergraduate courses to employment opportunities as detailed in the tenth plan, Granting of affiliation to a number of colleges contravened regulations. it is very ironical that accountability is affected as accounts have not been prepared since Prof.Mattoo took the charge as Vice Chancellor JU, he added.
Mr.Vikrant charged Prof. Mattoo for slackening the basic roots of JU and for befooling the people of Jammu which CAG report has proved and for this he must be prosecuted through legal court of justice.
Mr.K.D.Singh president SANGARSH appealed the government to set an high level enquiry on the six years tenure of Prof. Mattoo as CAG has revealed only that part which was lying under its circumference which is only one part of the hundred misdeeds .99 still needs exploration and SANGARSH shall work for that, he added.

Delegation met Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu

Today a delegation of Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Ashok Singh and President Mr. Krishan Dev Singh met Vice chancellor, University of Jammu and raised the issues including the issues of prior agenda already submitted with the name as “Justify Truth”. Beside all those issues the delegation raised the issue of conducting JURSEA election as easily as possible without any biasness as delay in elections is creating polarization among scholars and is also raising several questions in the justness of the office of Election Commissioner. The members of the delegation raised the issue of sealing JURSEA office for which elections going on should act in a neutral way.
Founder member of Sangarsh Mr. Ranjeet Sharma gave several inputs to the highest office in the University of Jammu for raising the standards of research scholars and for promoting scholarly aptitude among the aspirants in the campus. Mr. Ranjeet Sharma appealed to the Vice chancellor for sponsoring the scholars to attend the All India Conference who are supposed to present papers in the conference, raised the issue of making availability of on line journals, promoting skill oriented programmes which includes personality development programmes and also highlighted the issue of increasing scholarships to maximum number of research scholars enrolled in M. Phil and PhD programmes.
Mr. Krishan Dev Singh appealed to the vice chancellor to clear the stand on the point of requirement policy and must provide the information about the backdoor appointees who have been disengaged and also for those who are still working in the campus and must clear
the parameters that why some of the people were not disengaged who entered the university with following the recruitment policy.
The vice chancellor gave the patient hearing to the delegation and assured them for the absolute redressal of their issues and promised them to sponsor the scholars for participating in All India Conferences, who are supposed to present papers in the same and also assured to put the mater of scholarship to the maximum scholars in the coming University Council Meeting.

Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today held a press conference at Jammu University and has demanded the 24 hours medical facility, early compilation of new boys hostel, construction of four new hostels, and 24 hours canteen facility in the campus for promoting day and night study culture.Speaking on the occasion Mr. Krishan Dev Singh President Sangarsh appealed to the authorities for having 24hours medical facility in the campus. Mr. Singh claimed that there are many incidents when student got ill or got some problems regarding health at night but due to lack of medical facility they faced severe problems in search of medicine and treatment. The Health Center of Jammu University must not work as the official department with its timing from 9:00am to 5:00pm and closed on holidays but it should work as the service rendering centre with 24 hours accessibility and having fine equipments and expert staff for tackling the health situations, he said. Mr. Singh also appealed that there must remain two permanent mobile ambulances one in front of Boys hostel and one in front of Girls hostel to counter any sort of incident regarding the health of students and the health centre must recruit new doctors and staff for the fulfillment of 24 hours medical facility.Speaking during the press conference the General Secretary of the movement Mr. Suresh Kumar raised the critical issue of the construction and compilation of the new boy's hostel near Vivekananda Boys Hostel. Mr. Suresh raised the question mark on the part of authorities that why it has taken more than four years for its construction. The authorities must know the priorities for the students and the basic need for every student who comes from outside Jammu is the hostel facility particularly the students of far flung areas who are mostly deprived from this facility and are forced to take accommodation on rent basis which is very costlier and tire some thus reducing the efficiency of such students in academics, he added.Mr. Suresh appealed to the Vice chancellor University of Jammu for constructing of four new hostels two for boys and tow for girls so that each and every student can avail the opportunity of better resources and a way better future. It is also the need of an hour to amend the criteria for giving hostels. The criteria must be on the basis of the 50% parameters of distance and 50 % parameters of merit.Mr. Suresh claimed that the Sangarsh is in favour of day and night study culture in the campus and having 24 hours library facility and for this it is necessary for having one canteen in the campus which must remain open for 24 hours so that students must remain refreshed from time to time.Members of the working body who were also present include Ms. Tabish Tanvir, Mr. Chinamaya, Mr. Porush Shrikhandia.

Sangarsh celebrates foundation day

Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood held a Programme to celebrate its first foundation day at Jammu University campus. In an impressive function with a unique style to express its ideology the movement invited the well known news hawker of Jammu University Mr. Surinder Kumar as the Chief Guest. In a fine gesture the activists of the movement along with Mr. Surinder Kumar cut the cake of its first foundation day.
Speaking on the occasion the founder member of the movement Mr. Vikrant Shrama congratulated the activists for the successful compilation of the active one year. Mr. Sharma apprised the guests and the activists about the annual report of activities in which the movement raised number of genuine issues including implementation of RTI act as par with centre, giving teeth to State Accountability Commission, appointment of Chairperson for State Women Commission, introduction of Child Juvenile Act, improvement in the defunct nature of Public Service Commission, filling the seventy three thousands vacancies in the different departments, making infrastructure facilities to the thousands of schools in J&K, making adequate arrangements for road connectivity particularly in the far flung areas particularly the construction of Jammu Poonch highway which is most important road from the strategic point of view any many others.
Mr. Sharma also apprised about the much reckoned fight of Sangarsh with he autocratic regime in Jammu University. The movement fought for the implementation of basic academic calendar, fixed recruitment policy in the appointment, an enquiry on the financial bunglings in JU particularly in IQAC and DCD, about the construction of five new hostels, about the defunct nature of different study centers and their revival, about the step motherly treatment with the different campuses in comparison with the Bhardwah campus particularly the poor governance, about the revival of research activities in the campus and many others.
Mr. Sharma claimed that the movement is very much progressive and modern in its views and thoughts as the cutting of cakes on the foundation day indicates the same and cutting of cake from the hands of the industrious worker like newspaper hawker indicates the socialist ideology of the movement.

Sangarsh announced its Central Executive Body

Today Sangarsh- A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood today held a press conference to announce its central executive body. The founder member of the movement Mr. Vikrant Sharma in consolation with the core executive members of Sangarsh announced the body for the year 2009 in which Mr. Ashok Singh would be the Chairman of the Sangarsh and Mr. Krishan Dev Singh shall remain as the President of the movement. The other prominent members of the organizations shall include Ms. Mukti Tikkoo, Mr. Ramit Gupta, and Ms. Taniya Akhter as the Vice President of the movement.
Mr. Suresh Kumar shall act as the General Secretary of the Sangarsh movement with additional charges of Finance and Media. Mr. Munish Gupta shall act as the Joint Secretary (Finance), Mr. Neeraj Sharma shall act as the Joint Secretary (Administration), Mr. Akhmat Choudhary shall act as the Joint Secretary (Media Management), Ms. Poonam Honda shall act as the Joint Secretary (Records and Event Management). Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vikrant Sharma claimed that the Sangarsh movement is firmed on its 15 points memorandum submitted to the Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof. Varun Sahani regarding the title “Justify The Truth” and the movement is very much progressive for the re-dressal of the issues.
Mr. Sharma added the movement is also concerned with the explanatory memorandum submitted to the Registrar Jammu University for streamlining the recruitment policy of the University of Jammu. Mr. Sharma stated that the movement shall work with the missionary zeal for the fulfillment of its socio-economic-politico manifesto / aims and objectives of the movement among the masses of the nation. The movement is going to hold its first convention in the month of July of its regular card holders, he added.

Mr. Sharma appealed to the masses to reciprocate with the basic ideology of Sangarsh for the attainment of Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood in the society.

Sangarsh-A movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood observed the Liberation day from the autocratic, self styled regime of Prof. Amitabh Mattoo. The activists of Sangarsh marked the occasion by lightening the candles near gateway of knowledge to represent the new dawn in University of Jammu. Sangarsh claimed that exist of Prof. Amitabh Mattoo is not the culminating point of their movement which is meant for the complete revival of Jammu University and the filling of all the damages that took place in JU campus for the last few years. Students raised the slogans like “Mukt Hui Mukt Hui- Jammu University Mukt Hui, Liberation Day-Liberation Day, Mattoo Tere Raaj mein Student saare roye the, Mattoo Tere Raaj mein Teacher Saare Roye the, Mattoo Tere Raaj mein Statue Saare Tute the” On the occasion Sangarsh also launched a document naming “Justify The Truth” and aiming for the awareness.
The main points highlighted in the document include:
¨ White paper on the functioning, sources of income and expenditure of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to which we all have paid hundreds of rupees for the last five years and IQAC generated amount in crores. We talk about the accountability of the money we have paid and this corrupt administration treats us like traitors.
¨ White paper on the construction, activities, maintenance and parameters for rent of Gen. Zorawar Singh Auditorium to which it is apprehended that corruption in crores had taken place during construction.
¨ Parameters for different appointments that took place in JU for the last few years in which no notification no interview was taken in which either the wards of politicians, bureaucrats or blackmailers were appointed at the cost of talent. We are talking about recruitment policy and the administration treats us like enemies.
¨ Parameters for different extensions that took place in JU for the last few years in which only sycophants were given preference.
¨ Polarization of students, scholars and the members of teaching faculty and favoritism in promotions, extensions and appointments and the recent example you might have seen on one day JUTA held a rally against Prof. Mattoo’s order of elevating Dr. Meenakshi Kilam to the status next to vice chancellor and on next day Prof. Mattoo was leading the rally of Non Teaching staff in his favour.
¨ Public money spent in the name of foreign collaborations and the outcome of it.
¨ Implementation of full fledge Academic Calendar which includes the fixed calendar for the activities of DSW, Directorate of Physical Education, Professional Colleges, Degree Colleges, B.Ed. Colleges, Directorate of Distance Education and for the regular students of JU and the reasons why the calendar was not introduced, implemented and enacted for the last six years. Without Academic Calendar why every one was befooled with hallow claims of Global Institution and what was the relevance of ISO certification which is even possessed by small shopkeepers of Jammu in almost every street.
¨ Regarding Academic disorder it is pertinent to mention that there remained confusions in the admission and the examination system and the declarations of the results took even more then ten months in many departments and the re-evaluation of the results has many flaws and many times 20 to 30 increase in marks raises many questions and there are many cases where gap was of more then 40 marks.
¨ Defunct nature of different ‘study centers’ and their revival.
¨ Defunct nature of N.S.S. to which each and every student affiliated with JU contribute Rs.20 and amount in millions is collected per year and for the last three years Office of the Coordinator has sacrificed all the basic fundamentals of N.S.S. laid by its founders.
¨ We are talking about the working in Bhadarwah Campus which includes Police verification of the Employees, the recruitment policy in which favoritism has achieved heights, the under doubt working of Purchasing Committee and the construction criteria of the Bhadarwah campus and the reasons for the step motherly treatment with other sub campuses.
¨ One man one post formula should be implemented. Talent and Seniority should remain parameters and not sycophancy
¨ Poor conditions of the Research Activities owing to which for the last six years JU has not produced any research thesis of either international or national standards. We are talking about uniform system of admission, fixed time for viva vice after submission, better hi-tech infrastructure facilities to scholar rooms and more scholarship avenues to maximum number of scholars.
¨ Construction of five new hostels remained the basic need for the last few years which is ignored due to which students are suffering a lot. We are regularly talking about the primary need of basic hostel facility, about strict policy against harassment of students in the hostels and well defined allotment criteria giving preference to the students of far flung areas.
¨ About the working of DCD which has become the instrument of commercialized nexus of B.Ed colleges shattering the basic fundamentals of quality education. DCD has become the money grabbing cell generating more then ten crores and many colleges are selling the B.Ed degrees as student attend only one month out of one year course .We are saying about the white paper on the utilization of this huge money for the last six years.
